Hello Readers,
So I just finished Lindsey Stirling’s autobiography, but for those who don’t know who Lindsey Stirling is, she is an ELECTRIC DANCING VIOLINIST, which is pretty cool. She has absolutely amazing music. Since I am a violinist I really enjoyed reading about a violinist who broke out of the classical box of music, even though I love to play classic, it was refreshing to read about someone who brings something new to the music world.
COVER!
I think that the cover is incredibly creative. I kind of would have liked to see Linsey with her violin, since you know she’s a VIOLINIST, but on the back cover it does a nice job of showing her dancing. It was so creative that Lindsey Stirling’s costume matches the title of her book.
FANDOM AND FANART!
Since this book wasn’t fiction and doesn’t likely have much fan art I am going to add a couple of my favorite videos of here...
WHAT IT IS ABOUT!
Well, like I said this book is nonfiction and it is about the life of Lindsey Stirling. Her book tells about her money troubles as a kid. She tells about her struggle with anorexia and depression. We learn through the book about her friendships and failures. How she made it big time in show biz, while also keeping her standards as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, AKA Mormons. She shares her experiences of just dealing with life and forging her own path into a new world of music.
MY THOUGHTS!
I really enjoyed reading this, at points I was laughing out loud, then I was crying from my understanding of her struggles. She has a beautiful way of telling a story that makes you feel warm inside and incredible motivated. I enjoyed her advice on little things, like airplane etiquette and her powerful knowledge of the difficulty of life. I love how she made this book readable to every person no matter their religion. She shares her belief in the church, I loved this because I am also Mormon and understand how hard it is to explain to people. She left you feeling good about yourself and made you want to lift up the lives of people around you. I did struggle through reading some parts that I thought it could have been shortened in someplaces but overall I really enjoyed it.
RATING: 4/5
